Noch 2018 New Items

JULIAN LILLEY looks at what is due for release in 2018 from Noch.

It's that exciting time again when we review the new products released at the 2018 Nuremburg Toy Fair, which was held at the end of February.

OO/HO Scale

Although they are a German company, nearly all the new figures and scenic items this year have a very British feel about them with no sign of lederhosen or cow bells!

The first of these that caught my eye were the new OO/HO figures that all of which would suit nearly all layouts, apart from those that feature heavy industry or goods yards. After all what layouts don't have trees, that could have forest workers close by...

...or a church with a priest and choristers...

...or hanging out the washing in any town or village.

There are also some useful figures for use on an allotment or farm.

Whilst mentioning allotments, I was very impressed with the ready-made vegetables in Noch's new Décor Minis range which I am sure will be very popular.

Their new circular Hay bales were also some of the most realistic I have ever seen, and they are ready-made and excellent value.

I was also pleased to see that Noch have increased their range of Figures in N Scale.

With the growing popularity of O scale, particularly helped by great value items coming from Dapol, Noch have introduced a nice range of O scale figures.

If you really want to go the whole hog, then add the laser-cut kit of a Haunted House, which looks like something out of The Addams Family. It comes complete with ghosts, scary light effects, electronics pre-installed and connected ready for use, and a micro sound unit of ghosts howling. It is limited to a world-wide production of 1000 units, so you need to order quickly to avoid disappointment! A 16v AC/DC power source is required.

To complement the house (or just have separate) Noch have announced this Creepy Graveyard.

And finally, if you want to spoil yourself and always have a railway set close by then the James Bond style layout in an aluminium briefcase would be the ideal thing.
